What To Pray?

#1 Protection Against Violence, Sickness & Disease

Father, protect this school from any violence, sickness or disease.

Protect everyone from our bus drivers and their riders to every student, teacher, faculty and staff.

Lord, we rebuke the hand of violence against the children, students, and staff of this school. Dismantle any plan to bring harm to them. Expose any weapon brought into the school premises and render it harmless.

We also rebuke suicide and suicidal thoughts off our people. We know the highest rate of suicide in our country right now is between the ages of 10-14. We declare that the enemy can’t have our young people, they belong to you. We declare they will live and not die to declare your works and fulfill the purpose you have planned for them. We pray they will be filled with the hope, joy and life that can only be found in you.

Scripture:

  • Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1

  • No weapon formed against them shall prosper. Isaiah 54:17

  • They shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the Lord. Psalm 118:17

  • But the Lord is faithful. He will establish and guard them against the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3

  • You are a hiding place for them; you preserve them from trouble; you surround them with shouts of deliverance. Psalm 32:7

#2 Identity

God I pray that every student, teacher, faculty and staff member would know who they are in you! They are created in your image perfectly as men and women.

We rebuke the enemies plans to cause confusion and chaos. We tear down the idea that they can find fulfillment or worth in anything or anyone other than you, the one they were created in the image of.

We pray that they know you more, so that they can know more of who they are and the purpose and plans you have for them.

Scripture:

  • They are fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalms 139:14

  • God you know the plans you have for them. To prosper them, not to harm them. To give them a hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

  • They were made in the image of God. Make and female He created them. Genesis 1:27

  • Before God formed them in the womb He knew them, before they were bornGod set them apart. Jeremiah 1:5

  • Their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 2 Corinthians 6:19-20

#3 Teachers & Staff

God I pray that they would walk in wisdom, integrity, grace and truth. Please provide them strength, encouragement, and endurance.

We know  they pour into our students and at times it can feel overwhelming… I pray they can tap into your strength and wisdom to teach them and train them. Refresh them as they refresh and pour into our students. Help them to feel our prayers and support for them, and know that we are with and for them.

Scripture:

  • But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

  • Those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25

  • Let not mercy and truth be bound around your neck, Write them on the tablet of their hearts. Proverbs 3:3

  • In everything they would set an example by doing what is good. In their teaching, they would show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned. Titus 2:7-8

#4 Christian Students, Teachers & Staff

I pray for those that know you in this school. Grant them the wisdom and boldness to live out their faith, and stand strong in their beliefs.

Help them to boldly and lovingly be the salt and light of this school. Set them apart by their love and excellence. Help them to demonstrate their faith in you with kindness, love and works while serving each other. Protect them from any backlash or persecution for their faith.

Give them opportunities to share the Gospel with their classmates and co-workers.

Scripture:

  • They are the salt and light of the world. In the same way, let their good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.  Matthew 5:13-14

  • That they would be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with them wherever they go. Joshua 1:9

  • Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13

  • Let their faith be demonstrated by good deeds and works. James 2:18

  • They will not be ashamed of this Good News about Christ.  Romans 1:16

#5 An Open Door

Lord, may there be an open door in this school for the Gospel to be shared with students and staff. Allow every opportunity to share the name of Jesus to be maximized.

We pray for multiple opportunities for unbelievers to hear and understand the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Whether it be in the gym, the classroom or the lunchroom - we declare that your name be proclaimed in this school and people would come to know you this year.

Holy Spirit, it’s your job to open hearts and minds and draw people to Jesus… as you do your part, we commit to doing our part of taking advantage of every opportunity.

Scripture:

  • Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

  • I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 1:18-20

#6 Truth

Lord, release truth in this school. Help students and teachers to rightly discern truth and not believe false teachings. We tear down any thought, teaching or mindset that sets itself up against you and your word.

We pray according to your word that whatever is true…. be thought about and taught about in this school.

Scripture:

  • Buy the truth and do not sell it— wisdom, instruction and insight as well. Proverbs 23:23

  • Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8

  • We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture rebellious thoughts. 2 Corinthians 10:5

  • They will know the truth, and the truth will set them free. John 8:32

We commit to demonstrating our faith in you with action,  We will pursue and take advantage of every opportunity to be salt and light in this school and for every student, teacher, faculty and staff member. This is our county, this is our school and we will not sit idle as the enemy tries to take this next generation.

We have prayed and will continue to pray these things over this school and everyone in it. We will give, serve and love the people in this school so that they might know you. We will share the Gospel with those in this school and we thank you that they will be saved.

Scripture:

  • Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8
